This website provides access to various databases containing information on the
occurrence of cancer worldwide held and managed by the Section of Cancer Information (CIN)

GLOBOCAN provides access
to the most recent estimates (for 2008) of the incidence of, and mortality
from 27 major cancers worldwide.

CI5 (Cancer Incidence
in Five Continents) provides access to detailed information on the incidence
of cancer recorded by cancer registries (regional or national)

In collaboration with the International Association of Cancer Registries (IACR), IARC launched a call on September 1st 2011 for datasets to be included in a new volume of Cancer Incidence in Five Continents. This important publication represents the definitive compilation of cancer incidence statistics from high-quality population-based cancer registries and is an invaluable resource for cancer researchers and those involved in cancer control worldwide. Volume X will provide results for cancers incident in the period 2003-2007. The deadline for receipt of data is December 1st 2011. More information is available at the IACR website. WHO presents long time
series of selected cancer mortality recorded in selected countries of
the world, together with advanced prediction and trends analysis facilities.

Collaborative projects:
ACCIS (Automated Childhood Cancer Information System) provides access to
data on cancer incidence and survival of children collected by
European cancer registries.
IICC (The International Incidence of Childhood Cancer) provides access to
data on cancer incidence in children collected by cancer registries (regional or national) worldwide.
ECO (European Cancer Observatory) provides access to the estimates (for 2008) of the incidence
of, and mortality from 25 major cancers in the countries of the European Union (EU-27), together with a quick overview of on-going programmes of screening for breast, cervical and colorectal cancers implemented in the 27 European countries.
NORDCAN presents up-to-date long time series of cancer incidence, mortality, prevalence and survival
from 40 cancers recorded by the Nordic countries, together with advanced prediction facilities.
SurvCan presents cancer survival data from cancer registries in low and middle income regions of the world.
